How to Use RESCUE IT! MAX on Wood

Follow these videos for using RESCUE IT!® MAX on your wood surface

When it comes to protecting and extending the life of your worn and weathered deck, the 3-step system from Olympic Rescue It! Max will help you do the job right.

How to prep your wood surface

The first step to a properly refinished wood deck is to prep the surface, so follow every step, without short cuts, to ensure the best possible results.

Next, you should check the forecast for the perfect time to complete this project. You’re looking for a few nice, dry days in a row – this means no rain in the forecast. Also, look for a time when temperatures will be between 50 and 90 degrees, both day and night.

How to apply the first coat to your wood

If you want a smoother appearance, you can also lightly backbrush after rolling on the coating. Check your watch or set an alarm and allow a minimum of 6 hours for the first coat to dry. Drying times will vary depending on weather and the condition of the surface.

How to apply the second coat to wood

Now it’s time to apply the second coat. Check the forecast one more time to ensure there is no rain for at least 24 hours after you apply the second coat. Make sure it’s been at least six hours since you applied the first coat of Rescue it! MAX Resurfacer + Primer + Sealant and the surface is completely dry. Then, you’re ready to get started.

In just a few days, Olympic Rescue It! Max Resurfacer + Primer + Sealant can extend the life of your worn and weathered wood. You will have a beautiful deck that you can be proud of, and also a refreshed space to enjoy with friends and family.

How to maintain your wood surface

Take good care of your surface and high performance coating with a seasonal application of Rescue It! Max Maintenance Wash. It’s easy to apply and will help you enjoy your deck with friends and family.

For best results, you should use Rescue It Max Maintenance Wash at least once a year to keep your deck looking refreshed. If you live in an area with lots of moisture, or notice that you have a lot of dirt and sap from trees on your deck, you may want to use it more often.

Rescue It! is not recommended for whole-house vertical surfaces such as stucco or wood siding.
** Premature use will cause the coating to fail.  Avoid heavy use for 30 days to allow full cure to a hard finish.
